why so long to burn files to discs ?
Hey everyone, just joined the forun to-day...thank God you are here. I have a new HP laptop with vista home premium, my older PC has XP. when i want to copy files to a cD in XP i just clicked on the file and got it to copy to the CD in the drive. Now, with vista, it wants to format the disc every time I use it, after erasing the old files, and when i get the files to copy to the now empty disc i get a message the tells me that it will take 27 or more hours to burn the files. On the old XP the same amount of data wuold be copied in 10 mins or so. Why does the lap top want to format the discs every time...this takes 10 or more mins itself...then the very long time to burn the disc...help,an i doing something wrong???
regards,steve
