Resetting Wireless Router or access point
My Toshiba Laptop was set to access the wireless router from my desktop by a technician. It has worked fine for several months. I took it on a trip, but did not use a wireless connection while I was gone. When I returned it accessed Internet fine at first and received e-mail. I checked and noticed it was receiving on someone else's connection which was rather weak and evenutally it stopped receiving on that. When I tried to connect to my security enabled connection I got a message that it could not connect. When I clicked Diagnose This Problem, I got a message,"If you own or set up this network, reset your wireless router or access point and try connecting again."
My problem is that I don't know how to reset my wireless router. I am afraid if I monkey with my router, I will lose my connection on my desktop which works fine. Is there something I can do on my laptop to remedy this situation?

It is very simple-- first unplug the power from the back of the ROUTER- second unplug the power from the back of the MODEM.. WAIT for 2-3 minutes, then plug the power back into; first the MODEM AND WAIT FOR ALL LIGHTS TO COME ON (THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!)--- SECOND After all lights are on, then plug the power back into the ROUTER and wait 1-2 minutes for the two devices to link and finish turning on. THAT IS RESETING THE ROUTER/MODEM... also most of the time there are small reset buttons on the back of each device. That should also work... but be sure to router first then modem.
