Connecting Vista to Windows 2000

Hi, I have a new HP laptop with windows Vista.
I connected it to my wireless network, and even to my iMac sharing its printer. I haven´t been able, however, to connect to my Windows 2000 PC.
They just don´t see each other.
I tried HP support without any result, they said it can´t be done. Any suggestions?

please read this page File and Printer Sharing in Windows Vista and follow the instructions and you should be able to connect.

I have already done that, but it doesn't work.
They don't even see each other. Its frustrating that I can see the mac from both computers but not the windows.
They don't even ping.
