Multiple issues related to Network and Sharing Center not responding
Hi. I have a new Dell running preinstalled
Vista Home Premium. I am trying to use a printer attached to an XP machine also on this network. What's working is the two computers are on a wireless network and connect to the internet(most of the time) with no problem. My network and sharing center opens after a long pause and then is not responding. I checked the wireless adapter that I installed and the router and they are supposedly Vista-compatible, both are D-Link. This Vista also seems to uninstall my wireless adapter ramdomly...it just disappears. Then it uses one that is pre-installed(?) on my system which has poor signal. On boot up these 3 windows appear:
AirPlus CFG.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The Procedure Entry Point apsGetInterfaceCount could not be located in the dynamic link library wlanapi.dll
(only choice to close the window; then #2)
WZCSLDR2.exe Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point apsInitialize could not be located in the dynamic link library wlanapi.dll
(only choice to close the window; then #3)
D-Link Wireless LAN Monitor has stopped working.
Windows will close this program and look for a solution to the problem......
It never finds a solution. I also have a red x on the connectivity icon in the system tray with the message:
Connection status: unknown
Server execution failed
I have tried to fix that with a command prompt that I found in a forum but it doesn't. Nothing changes. Apparently some people think these things are connected, no pun intended. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am wiped out with this Vista. thank you
