I made sure BITS, Auto Updates, & Crypto Service were all enabled & running. They were.

I disabled my pop up blocker.

When I went into TCP-IP features, I just checked "Obtain DNS server address automatically".

There had been two IP addresses in the two boxes there under "preferred" & "alternate" for TCP/IPv4. There is nothing there now.

Ran updates. For first time in over a month, it downloaded the updates. Error 8024402C is gone. Was able to install.

I'm assuming this fixes it?

If so, I appreciate it very much. I've been to so many other forums for other programs, etc, and never get anywhere because of wise guys hi-jacking the thread. Glad you stuck with me.
