Desktop Icons
I still have dial-up because of living where they have to pump in sunshine, so my PC is slow naturally. My question is about it being unusually slow recently. It boots up normally at the same speed as always except when the desktop appears, the Icons turn white and one by one they turn back to their original form. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I did recently switch from a registry cleaner that costs money to Windows Security Essentials. Could that be my problem? I like it because it is totally free and all of the socalled freeware I've tried only do so much in the way of speeding up my PC but offer a better one for a fee. Thanks for any suggestions.
