Error: 0x800CCC0D

Hi folks,
I have an acer cpu and a lexmark all in one printer attqch to it. I was trying to attach a picture to an email by scanning the picture. When I went to send the email it came back with this statement:--Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11003, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D.
Is there anyone out there had experience this situation.
I sure would appreciate any help as to how to get rid-off this error.
