80070643 with update KB974467

When trying to install Update KB 974467 .NET Framework 2.0 service pack 2 I get error code 80070643. Install gets to 90% and stops after 30 secs I get a warning .NET Runtime optimization service has stopped running. Install then cancels itself and I get the error code 80070643.Other updates install without problems.Running Vista Basic.
please help.
