Deleted D:Recovery Partition on my eMachine
I went to Disk Management and right clicked on the D: recovery partition and deleted it. The reason I did this is because I was trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate and when the installation got towards the end the recovery partition kicked in and would not let me install Windows 7. I looked this up and found that if you delete the recovery partition you will then be able to install Windows 7. Well, I deleted the D: recovery partition and then tried to install Windows 7 again. This time the install would not complete because it had no drive to attach itself to. I went back into Disk Management and low and behold the Disk 0 is now missing. I still have Windows Vista OS on the hard drive, but it is not showing up in Disk Management. It starts with Disk 1 then Disk 2 and so on, but Disk 0 is not there. When I went into "my computer" the drive C: is there with my Vista operating system on it. What is the heck is going on here and can I still install Windows 7? I have used image burn to make a bootable Windows 7 DVD but need to get my Disk 0 back in order for the install to work or can I just reformat the hard drive and use the bootable DVD to install Windows 7? Someone please help.... Thanks !
