i bought a acer windows vista basic pc last yr,it is now SLOW all together.The hard drive sounds like its working over time.whats happening please give me some tips?

download tuneup utilities 2008 and do a complete defrag,plenty of options init to boost and optimize,read before you do any though

Things you can do.

1. Eliminate in "Control Panel" software that you don't use. Especially all that trial software, toolbars, and duplicated software.

With duplicated software, I'm refering to programs that have the same function, like 2 dvd players such as Ciberlink Power DVD or Win DVD.

2. Go to Start---> then type msconfig ----> the go to the tab Startup, and uncheck the software not need it. Don't uncheck windows software.

3. Scan your computer for infections. I will recommend using Avast Antivirus Home Edition. It is free.
