can't uninstall microsoft works!

Hello to all! I am trying to uninstall MS Works and other MS programs in favour of Open Office. When I hit the uninstall tab in the control panel, it tells me "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." and asks me to enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'works8.MSI'.

I am not what you would call computer literate, and I have no idea how to fix this. All this Microsoft stuff takes too much room and I have no use for it. Please help!

How to manually uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using the "Add or Remove Programs" feature

if that doesn't work this will, but be careful with it. it's a very powerful uninstaller. if you accidentally choose more than what you intended it's gone forever unless you have installation discs.

I honestly think the MS stuff is a lot better than open office. it lacks a lot of usefull features. such as templates for envelopes.
