Urgently need help-In utter despair!
Ok, well, this is embarassing and actually quite sad from one side.
I have a Vista Basic OS on my Acer Aspire 5735. All was good until (the embarassing part) i played around a bit with my files *God knows why i did that!* must have been using something else instead of my brain
going back to the issue, i kinda deleted my shadow volume thingamajig- well it wasnt 'kinda' coz i DID delete it. And then, clever mui, wanted to fix it and i did something again and my C:/ drive ended up like 1/3 the size it was! so,, umm,,, i freaked out, and i wanted it to be the way it was,,,, since i lost important files, i decided to do system restore, but it wouldnt run (no shadow copies-thingys and 2/3 of the files gone!) i tried all sort of things,,,, optimizing, cleaning registries, defragmemtations blah blah, nothign worked. I got tired so i thought i'd try and live with it. But since, i kinda got obssessed with cleaning my laptop,,, and when i say obssessed i mean i would run a whole system scan a couple of times a day including virus scan, antispy, defragmentations, disk clean-ups, tune-ups, driver updates etc. Few days ago, something hit me again, and i wanted to check if the system restore would work,,,,, and ,, well,, yeah,,, it flipping DELETED ALL my files!!!! and i seriously, and i mean SERIOUSLY need help! i have VERY IMPORTANT WORK on them that need to be SUBMITTED by 31st and i cannot possibly start all over again! so PLEASE!!!! HEEELP! please tell me there is a way i can get my work back and if i could get the photos that were also deleted that would be wonderful! i'd be more than greatful! i got this laptop towards the end of december 2008, so its been around 7 months-ish, and just yesterday i started backing-up my work

Geez, you sure do have a problem. I think at this stage of the game, you would be better off taking the PC toa computer store or to someone who can help figure out what you did and how and what to do to fix it. It may cost you a few $ but at least maybe you can get your files back. Sorry I cannot be of help
