Can't install HP7150 Printer

I'm unable to install My HP7150 printer; I'm using the installation disc supplied with the printer and can't get past the "Connect the printer to the power source and then connect to the computer via USB"
Seems odd, as the printer worked fine with my previous computer,now on permanent loan to my granddaughter, and the new one has exactly the same specs,both using Vista Home basics ?? Any suggestions,other than swapping computers again, much appreciated

Assuming you are connecting a HP photosmart 7150 to a 32bit vista home computer, this download might help you.http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-51090-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=2093&product=728 81 Click the "download only" button, and run the file afterwards. This will install the drivers for the printer on the computer, and hopefully fix the problem.

The CD needs you to connect the printer to detect what kind it is - it's a generic installer. Still, double check the connections.
