Security Center can´t change updating settings

I recently turned off my windows update because it automatically restarts.
After a few days I decided to turn it on again by clicking the Windows Security Alerts icon in the taskbar because it might affect the performance of the system.
Whenever i will try to change the settings: "Install Updates Automatically(recommended)" a dialog box always appear saying "Security Center can´t change your automatic updating settings"
I also tried "Change settings manually" but the window of the windows update is blank.

I tried entering the following:

* regsvr32 wuapi.dll
* regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
* regsvr32 atl.dll
* regsvr32 wucltui.dll

regsvr32 wuaueng.dll and regsvr32 wucltui.dll were not successful... There were error codes..

Help needed..
