outlook 07 and/or windows mail not connecting

First post here but have searched around can cant find the answer.

Ok here is the deal, we have multiple brand new right out the box Dell Vostro desktops running Vista Home Basic, everything works fine on these machine and huge change from the machines they replaced.

HOWEVER, Outlook 07 and Windows Mail refuse to connect to our mail servers. We install Thunderbird on the machines and put the same settings and instant connection.

My work laptop along with one of my employees personal laptops are running Vista Home Premium and we both use Outlook 07 with no problems at all.

Any tips or tricks on fixing this?? Any help would be great!
