Problem with Adobe Flash

Hi guys out there. I have a strange problem about adobe flash on my vista basic. The software was running fine when suddenly i was not able to view flash content on any of the browser i.e IE & Firefox. I have tried downloading adobe flash again according to the instructions but even though the programme shows installation but flash content is still not viewable. Short of changing windows registry I have tried every troubleshooting option available on the adobe site but not to any avail. Can somebody help?
