possible to fax from Vista Home Basic?

Is it possible to fax from Vista Home Basic? I realize the Windows fax and scan are not an option on this package and it doesn't look like I can purchase a download for it. Is there some other software that will enable me to send and receive faxes?

I encountered this problem also with Home Basic.

I tried Snappy Fax and it does work. However, when I thought about the OTHER limitations of Home Basic, I wondered if buying stand alone products at 30 bucks a pop as "band aids" was worth it versus upgrading Vista.
