No Sound on YouTube

My computer is about 2 months old. Last week I got sound on YouTube, now none. I've checked everything I can think of. I was thinking maybe put the system back to the original defaults but no idea how. Sound works fine in everything else!

Make sure you don't have the sound in the Youtube player on mute.

I have encountered this same problem. Was working fine for months, then suddenly it is not working. I have been online with tech support twice for 2 hours each time, handed over desktop sharing, to no avail. WHy are there no answers/fixes for this problem. What is causing it? I hate VISTA.

I finally found the solution for my system, hope it works for you! I had to scour the net! go to this site:


K-Lite Codec Pack 4.1.7 - Download Freeware - Only Freewares
\
and download the K-Lite Codec Pack 4.1.7 (standard). It worked like a charm for me, I was shocked to get my sound back on everything it had disappeared from! Let me know if it works for you! It's free, too.

By the way, I also spent lots of time with a tech, tried all kinds of things! This Codec fix was on another forum, but it sure worked great!!
