Very frustrated....

Hello..
Vista is driving me mad! So ive reformated it, reinstalled the whole thing. My net works fine, but when i go to download a prog. it either goes for a few seconds & freezes or i get this error that says "the connection with the server has been reset". Can someone help me here?
