Nonstop updating

Hi all I have an HP Pavilion. It will not boot up; all it does is it says on the screen updating 3 of 3 then it flashes shutting down, and then starts all over. I can't boot in safe mode or f8 to C promt for system restore. HELP PLEASE

Ok, that is a very weird problem, probably an update fails to "update" the file it is trying to access. You are saying you have an HP Pavilion Laptop? In that case press F11 at boot and when the Recovery Manger loads up, select that you want to make a system restore. DO NOT MAKE A RECOVERY a recovery will reinstall vista and destroy all your personal data and reinstall all that crap HP put in your PC.

This is highly inaccurate, but it was a very long time since my last use of recovery manager.

Can u plz specify if its windows update or hp updates?????
Can u also tell us if u can boot the computer to the desktop.... generally this happens when u try to stop some updates after starting it......
U can try going to recovery manager as my friend told u by tapping F11 key while the computer is restarting and then click on advanced options and select system restore....
Just try this it sholu work....
