Eternal Loggin Off message, cannot log off or on
My friend's computer will not log off. It displays the message Loggin Off as if it were powering down, it will not shut down. Eventually after unplugging it and letting the battery run down (about 15 hours) it appeared to have shut down. So I plugged it back in, powered up and got that same logging off screen. This computer has hardly been used, it suffered from the Toshiba Power-Up Password Prompt glitch, which Toshiba couldn't fix, so we reloaded the machine. Then there were incredible problems with certificate recognition that made surfing maddening, so I downloaded Firefox onto his system. A couple of days later (with NO internet use in the meantime) this present problem arose. Any suggestions?
