Windows Mail password problem.
I had windows XP for two years before I upgraded to Vista so accordingly, I also upgraded from Outlook express to Windows Mail. I have been running Windows mail flawlessly for a year until last week when suddenly it has asked me to verify my user name and password. It will not accept my user name and password and gives me the error message:
Account: 'pop.east.cox.net', Server: 'pop.east.cox.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid user name or password.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
I have since upgraded to a new computer and am still experiencing the same problem. I talked to my internet provider cox communication and made sure I have everything set up properly and it still will not work. Their technical support person tol me that Windows mail was down and I would need to talk to a microsoft person. I have looked throught the Microsoft website and cannot find anything about an outage. Can anyone shed some light on my problem and is anyone else experiencing the same thing? I can check my mail from my providers home page, but it would be great to get Windows mail working again. Please help me.
