usb devises not reconized

Hi Everyone

when i plug a usb device in, vista does not reconize it. No beep/driver promp/ nothing. I have tried with many devices. In Device manager there are pci to usb host controllers and usb root hubs all say they have updated drivers and are working corectly. Help

Hi richerson

try the following...

Locate the file INFCACHE.1 in C:\Windows\inf

Right click on the INFCACHE.1 file, select Properties >Security > Edit, and give
your username full control.

Rename it to INFCACHE.1.BAK

Reboot your PC and it should reinstate the USB driver files.

I Have done the above ,and still no change. What else could it be?
