I installed Quick Books 2007 which seems to be the only version that will work with Vista. I keep getting the following error message. "The file specified cannot be opened. Make sure that it is not currently being used by another program or a read only file." "The Windows error was; The file exists" You can get by this message by repeatedly hitting OK. Quick Books claims that it is a Vista problem. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks, Bill
Open the Program Compatibility Wizard by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Use an older program with this version of Windows.
Enigma, Many thanks for your response. I don't believe that compatability is an issue as this is the latest version and it shows as compatable. I did notice that in Quick Books 2007, under "File" there are 2 different tabs to open a company that show two different locations for the same .QBW file. I've heard that QB changed the location for storing files, maybe that is a clue that may lead to an answer.
