Printing with Vista over LAN on XP not working
Hello,
i have got the following problem: I wanted to print with Vista over LAN on an printer which is installed on an XP pro PC. First it was very slow (more than 2 minutes in Word to complete the printing dialog and another 2 minutes to get a page), but it worked. Then i installed the printer on Vista at a local port printer (e.g. \\Printserver\KMCC2300W) instead of a network printer. Now Vista is printing very fast, but in the spooler of the printer on XP there is only a PrinterDataFile from Remotesystem listed, Pages N/V and the size is just 5 bytes. This file is deleted after 2 seconds. The printer is doing nothing. Printing from the XP PC works fine.
After 3 hours of playing around i gave up...
Has somebody had the same problem or does somebody know how to solve it?
