Error 1108 and 5032
First post so hi to everybody.
I'm by no means an expert on computers but i have been working on error 1108.The event logging service encountered an error while processing an incoming event published from Microsoft-Windows-Security-Auditing.
I run Vista Home Basic 32bit and this error appeared in the logs several times daily.
I won't bore you with all the things i tried that did'nt work in trying to get rid of this error but i think by luck i just might have hit upon something.
Under services i had the Windows Search disabled[Like a lot of people do].I set this to Automatic and no error now for 5 days.
It's worked for me at the moment so fingers crossed.
Error 5032.Windows Firewall was unable to notify the user that it blocked an application from accepting incoming connections on the network.
The only profile i use on my pc is the Private one.I never use the Domain or Public profiles.
But by just trying various different settings under Win Firewall i discovered that if i changed the Inbound connections that do not match a rule are blocked on the Public profile [which i never use anyway] from BLOCKED TO ALLOWED error 5032 never appeared in the logs again.
The only down side to this is that if you then check on your computers security status it will then say that Win Firewall is not running on the correct settings.
As i said at the start,i am a by no means an expert on these matters and have just been lucky. But thought i would share it with you.
Mike.
