file attachement in preview window gone

Hello all,
Just upgraded from Explorer 8 to 9. Lost the volume icon, but used the Microsoft fix and got it back. However, in explorer 8 when I brought up windows mail it displayed my messages and had a preview window below. When an attachment was included a paperclip would show up in the main mail window as well as at the top right corner of the preview window. I could save attachments from the the preview window. Since the upgrade the preview paperclip is gone but the mail window clip is there. To get to the attachment I have to open the email. Is there a way to restablish the paperclip in the preview window?
