Vista won't recognise external hard drive
Hey all,
I have a HFS+ formatted hard drive containing backups for my MacBook. I'm trying to access them from a laptop running Vista Home Basic. I've downloaded a program caled HFSExplorer that should serve my purposes (I only need to read from the drive; not write to it). But here's my problem.
When I plugged in the hard drive (a Toshiba 500GB) Vista seemed to detect it and a few minutes later I got a 'your device is ready for use' message, but now I can't find it in Windows Explorer. If I go to Disk Management it's listed amongst the other volumes, but it's not named (as in I can see in the list 'OS (C ', 'RECOVERY (D ', but the name field for my hard drive is blank. When I right click on it, all the options to interact are greyed out, apart from 'Delete'.
Does anyone have any advice? I have some files on here that I need to access pretty urgently, so it would really, really be appreciated if anyone has any thoughts on how to fix this.
