Acer Aspire 5736 Laptop - Vista
Hi,
This morning I started my laptop and during start up it stopped at the screen where is asks you to conintue to select whether to start normally or in safe mode etc. the options are:
start in safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode command prompt
last known good configuration (advanced)
I always shut down properly.
None of these options work and it goes around in a loop.
It just goes in a loop. A small flash as if it is going to start but back to the screen above.
At the top it says that "windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. insert the windows installation disk and restart the computer
2 choose the language and click next
3 Click "repair your computer"
I think something like a software download did it but didn’t notice that this was happening in the background when I shut down.
I don’t have any back ups.
I don’t have a windows installation disk.
The O/S is Vista.
I don’t have a recovery disk.
Each option shows the drivers etc loading but again just loops around.
Can you help and/or advise?
Thank you.
Roy
