vista hangs on opening "Computer"
If on opening "Computer" explorer reports not responding and/or freezes then first check for:
Non responsive :
- Optical Disks/Drives (CD/DVD) ;
- External Hard Disks;
by manually ejecting disks(CD/DVD) or other external hardware and opening
"Computer" again.
Cause:
Windows Vista will search for these every time we open "Computer" and if it is not responding it will wait for the device and on delay or repeated clicking from the user the explorer freezes and registers "Not Responding".
If external devices is fine then check the main hard disk's health.
PS: I found it to be an damaged DVD.
