The Audio Service is not running
I have an HP laptop running Vista. I accidently disabled my audio device (right clicked the speaker icon under sounds and clicked disable). There's now an 'x' over my speaker icon in the bottom right corner of my screen. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them, but it didn't work. A system restore was unsuccessful as well. I scanned for viruses and found nothing. I've tried to adjust things in "services" like the plug and play but a dialog box pops up saying "Configuration Manager: The machine selected for remote communication is not availiable at this time." The Plug and Play says "Starting" and "Automatic." My device manager is completely empty. This all started only because I accidently disabled my audio device. Is their anyway to get my sound back again?
