Blue screen error

hi, am using windows vista starter for more than two years.... for the past 7 months am getting blue screen error... could any of you can suggest any solution.....

Hi,

Do you have some more detail on the blue screen?

There is normally "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down ..." Below this there will be some text to help you indicated what part of the system is having trouble.

Also a STOP: error at the bottom and some other error messages.

actually the blue screen appears for less time and i can note some of the msgs...

A prob has been detected & windows has been shutdown to prevent damage....
check to be sure u hav adequate disc space. if a driver is identified in the stop msg, disable the driver or check with mft for driver update.... check with ur hardware vendor for any BIOS update...

Hi,

You can check the minidump files in this directory:

C:\Windows\Minidump

You can then download Windbg from the Microsoft website to analyse the files: Driver Developer Resources: Debugging Tools for Windows

It will tell you what file is the most likely culprit.

If it is random it could be bad memory that is cause the problem.

Hello dear ,

Don't worry. It is curable . The prominent reasons for this behavior are:

• A STOP error has caused the system to stop.
  
• The Automatically restart option is selected under Startup and Recovery in the System properties.
  
• The size of the Windows paging file is less than the amount of memory installed in the computer.

You need to do some modifications in registry files and you will be out of this issue.
