Windows failed to load becuase the system registry file is missing, or corrupt.
Hi, I am new to this forum and don't know much about computers but here's the dilema I have.
When I try to start my computer I get the message below about the registry file.
Windows failed to load becuase the system registry file is missing, or corrupt
Here is the extended message that I get:
1. Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause
2. To fix the problem:
a. Insert you Window's installation disk and and restart.
b. Choose language settings, then click next.
c. click repair your computer
3. Status: 0xc00000e9
4. Windows failed to load becuase the system registry file is missing, or corrupt.
5. file: \windows\System32\config\system
I have tried doing the steps in number 2 but when I click next after languages I don't see an option that indicates "click to repair your computer'
I have tried to reinstall the OS a couple of times but I get the same message.
I have an Extensa 4420 Acer Laptop.
Is this fixable?? Or is my computer just now gone?? Thanks for the responses.
