Partitioning the Hard Drive
I know that there are things all over the internet about this, but no one has seemed to have this problem as badly as me (that I can find, anyways). I have a 173 GB hard drive and 67.6 GB of that is free. I'm trying to partition my hard drive into a 16 GB portion and whatever is left of the 67.6 GB after the partition. This partition is so I can try out Windows 7. Anyways, when I go to disk management and say "Shrink Volume" after I right click on my C: drive, it comes up with the GUI that allows you to shrink and says that I only have 1 MB of space left for shrinking. I have almost 68 GB of free space on my hard drive and only 1 MB of it can be shrunk. I've tried defragging everything and that only made things worse as before I defragged I had almost 1 GB left for shrinking. Now I only have 1 MB. Any tips or ideas on how I can remedy this?
