Can't download abode reader---HELP

I am at my wits end. I need adobe reader for my online classes and everytime I try to download it, the screen just freezes and then I have to use the task manager to close it. I just got a brand new HP computer with Vista 64, Service Pack 1. Can anyone please help me?

Hi there, you could be trying to download from a 'dodgy' site (there's a few out there pretending to be adobe).
another option is to d/load foxit reader free from Foxit Reader for Windows.
this is a smaller d/load and a lot of people think it's better than adobe.

the issue might be because you have the 64 bit version of vista.
Id contact adobe to see if they have another version of reader you can get or some kind of fix for it.

after just a 2 min google search it seems that there are a lot of people having that problem in the 64 version of vista.
adobe will probably have a fix pretty soon I'm sure.
but for now I'd use the foxit reader.
