32bit/64bit router conflicts
I'm having some serious issues with my DLink DIR-655 router and a couple machines at home. First off I have three computers at home, the first is a WinXP laptop, the second is a Vista 64bit Desktop, and the third is a Vista 32bit laptop.
This is my second DIR-655 as I returned the first one thinking there were hardware issues, but I am beginning to think otherwise.
Here is my issue:
When I have the 64bit Desktop plugged into the router, it works fine. When I add the XP wirelessly, it works fine. When I add the Vista32 wirelessly, it works fine. However, when I add the Vista32 as a wired connection, the router seems to go haywire and all connections drop, the connection goes to either Limited Connectivity or Local Only (although I cannot access the router configuration page). I've toyed with every single setting I can imagine, updated drivers, uninstalled/reinstalled the NIC, and still it does it repeatedly.
Just as a side-note, if I take an old DLink router that has a cable test feature it only comes up as 10Mbps half-duplex, whereas the rest of the computers come up 100Mbps Full Duplex. Anyone have any idea what's going on?
