Print job deletes before printing on Visata shared printer

Hi, I hope you can help.

I am running Vista (64) on my desktop and XP on my laptop, both are connected via my home network. I have successfully shared files across both systems but am having some difficulty sharing the printer connected via USB to the Vista PC. I have set up the share in the usual way, it is visible on the XP laptop to the extent that I can modify preferences and the like. The problem occurs when I try to print anything form the XP laptop, the print job moves to the print queue on the Vista machine but no sooner has it started spooling the system deletes the file. More over the only way then to remove the file from the pring queue is to stop and restart the print spooler.

Any ideas???
