Problems with sound PLEASE help

I have a sony Vaio lap top Model number PCG-5K1L with Realtek high def audio and for some reason my sound wont work and I dont know how to fix it. It says it's playing in the audio devices it says its working but it wont play any sound. Please help me!

Try updating your sound driver. First try windows update, if it doesn't give you any options there try getting the driver from sony's website. I don't know your specific model number, so this is as far as i could get:

click on your specific model, and then under audio (sound) there should be a sound driver. Download and install this, and then restart the computer. Hopefully this will fix the problem.
