Windows Movie Maker - preview does not work

Hi

this is my first time on this site and I'm getting very frustrated with my new computer and googling for solutions.

I have windows home premium and windows movie maker on my laptop. I want to edit my home movies but the preview button doesn't work. All I get is a still picture and the sound. Lots of sites have identified this as a problem for vista and different windows packages and suggested working with less clips. Have tried that and it still doesnt work.

Can anyone help? Please....!!!!
