Inernet Explorer

I am new to this forum and not particularly PC literate although I am trying and learning all the time. Every time I try to use Internet Explorer I receive a message saying 'Internet Explorer has stopped working'. My ISP is AOL and I use Norton 360 to protect my system. Could either of these be blocking Internet Explorer? If not what else can I do to get it working. Thanks for your help. Poolboyuk

well, something is causing internet explorer to crash, and it would be hard to figure out what without poking around on your computer for awhile.

The first thing I would suggest doing is making sure your computer is fully updated, run windows update, and install all of the important updates - you may have to run it a few times to get all of them, as some are required to be installed in sequence. After it's done you should be running internet explorer 8.

If it still doesn't work, try running a system scan with your anti virus.

Just out of curiosity, how did you get on th web to post this question if IE is crashing?
