Application cannot "save as"

I have a customer that can not save a file in a program on Windows Vista. I have many customers that run the same program on Vista without issue.

Customer in question is reporting the "save as" dialog box looks more like an explorer type window with no option to give a file name or select a file type. (Customer does not have issue saving with any other program on same computer.)

Not sure if related to same problem but customer also stated that when the application is launched, the screen goes black for a few seconds then the program opens with low graphics. As soon as program is closed the graphics go back to normal.

We tried uninstalling application/reinstalling, manually un-registering/re-registering DLL's/OCX's, changed color scheme and screen resolution, and changed Windows compatibility mode.

Does anyone have any hints as to what is going on or how to fix?

Just an FYI for a workaround to this problem:

Relaying a suggestion I found (on another posting site) about this problem, the user created a "standard user" account and was able to resolve the problem with the Save As dialog box. Now when she logs on as that new standard user OR her original Administrator account, the problem is resolved!
