Photos distorted

The background on my desktop is distorted. The photo looks like it is stretched. I have replaced the monitor and I can not find an adjustment that will correct this........... help appreciate.

right click the desktop and go to personalize. click desktop background. at the bottom of that window are a few options. fit to screen ,tile, center. Click center and that should keep it from being distorted. You probably just have a image that is not that same size as your screen and you have it set to fit to screen which stretches it so it covers the whole screen.

Thanks, but that was not the problem......... the screen resolution was off........... way off.......... and it would not accept the adjustment. I had a bad monitor and now have a new one.

I appreciate the suggestion.
