creating a recovery disc

Hello
I have never made a recovery disc before, so i am just making sure on a couple of things, its a new computer with vista home premium on it.

The manual says disable any anti virus programs, i have MCAfee (which i am going to unistall soon) But what about windows defender doe's that have to be disabled also.

my vista is still running onecare at the moment and it overrides defender,when i want to use defender i have to turn it on everytime,unless youre manual tells you to i wouldnt do anything with it,im installing norton 2009 which means i have to uninstall onecare but manual says nothing about defender,maybe you should check the web before doing anything

Thanks gazzoid, i just disabled both of them anyway, to be sure, and thus , the recovery disc,s where created.
