Freeze problems...Please help!!!!

sometimes windows that i open just freeze on me. And i dont know how to close them, i dont want to restart my computer. is there like a combination of keys i can press to force quit programs/windows? thanks

Hit control/alt/delete at the same time and pick the task manager. From there click on the applications tab. Find the window that is froze, should say not responding. Highlight it and hit end task at the bottom.

You can also right click a blank area of the taskbar and pick task manager as well.

In Vista sometimes Windows will recognize when something famously is "not responding" and when you click on that window you will notice it will turn grayish. Then if you click the "X" you close that window a dialog window will appear with the options to shut down the application immediately, wait for program to respond, and I forget what the third is, but you get the point. Task manager like DocX said it the other way.
