Windows update not counting the updates installed manually

Hello,
I have recently downloaded Office 2007 SP2 from microsoft website and installed it manually (i.e. not through windows update). Now windows update keeps warning me that it needs to install Office 2007 SP2 as if it was never installed on my PC.
Is this a bug or I should have updated my system through windows update?
Is there a way to make windows update scan my system and pickup on the updates that I have installed manually?
