Paint is blurring my pictures

When I draw a picture in paint and save it then open it again my picture has become blurred. a example would be that if I had made a blue square overlaping a red square and save and exited then when I reopend it the blue square would be filled with diferent veriations of bule and not just the original blue I saved it with (same for the red square). Is the any way I can stop this?

I was saving in JPEG which distorts the picture. I switched to PNG and problem solved.
