PDF Question...
I am trying to paste a pdf file into an Outlook email (not as an attachment, actually pasting the pdf into the email).

The problem I am having is the original pdf file contains website links. When I export the file from Acrobat Professional as a jpg and insert into the email, the website links are no longer active.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Re: PDF Question...
Exporting the file from Adobe as a JPG file, in effect converts the file to an image, and that is why the links do not work. If you want to send the file as a PDF file in such a format as the recipient can view and print the document and use the links, it should be attached as a PDF file.

You are attempting to send a text file but are converting it to a photo format and then the text features no longer work.

Re: PDF Question...
Thank you very much for the reply. How do I paste a copy of the pdf (with working links) into body of the email....not as an attachment the recipient has to open?

Re: PDF Question...
The short answer is you can't. The long answer is that in order for the document to retain it's features (as a document) it must be attached. That way the recipient can either open the attachment as a PDF document and then save it or save it first then open it. The whole purpose of the entire PDF format is to keep the document usable as a document.

If you are not concerned about whether the recipient can use it as a document, you can open the document, start the e-mail program and then copy and paste the contents of the document into the e-mail. The e-mail will then have the text, the links should be blue and underlined indicating that they will work, but it will not be usable as a document, it will just be an e-mail.
