Error on Asus lapttop with Vista when recoveyring from hibernation/sleep

Most of the time my machine recovers from sleep/hibernation, I get a gray and black error screen that says it cannot recover from hibernation or something along those lines (sorry I didn't remember to write it down last time) and wants to either run in safe mode or I have to reboot. Any ideas? It is a brand new machine. I wondered if the Nvidia card was causing a problem, but I really have no idea. Thanks!

And I CAN spell laptop-the posting interface or whatever wouldn't let me correct the title, LOL
