speech recognition limited to commands
I am trying to use speech recognition. It works well for executing commands such as open wordpad ,scroll down, etc. I can also type individual letters in wordpad without a problem by saying, for instance "type q" When it comes to dictating words however I get absolutely nothing except What was that? in the voice recognition window. This is not a training issue- I don't even get nonsense, it simply does not do dictation at any level. I even tried to put a simple word like "big" in the dictionary and train it to my voice.- Still nothing. It is as if some key component to do this is shut off. Anyone run into this problem?
