Fuzzy font

Hello all,
I have a fuzzy font, Oh ! poor chap I hear you all chorus, No joke this is most annoying, I have paid a couple of companies to assist me in fixing this BUT to no avail.
I run vista, on a new Toshiba and a month or so ago it went queer, I have tried "TrueType" etc, but it seems that nothing works, I have not done anything untoward to my system.
Can anypne help.
